Feb. 23: Your Shoes*
i’ve loved these LL Bean hearthside slippers. sadly they’re no longer available, which is a huge bummer for me since i really need to replace the stink machines. i wear them every single day, usually most of the day, sometimes all day.
*baby feet included at no extra charge.

Feb. 22: Where You Work
today was hosting a playdate at my “office”. i have a pretty awesome work environment, great coworkers, dress code is tres casual, and my boss (while sometimes demanding and whiney) is one of my favorite people on the planet. definitely the best job i’ve ever had… although i do miss having traveling on someone else’s dime : )

Feb. 21: Fave Photo of You
surprised ya, huh? i’m sure it would have made the most sense if i’d put up one of me holding my little one, one of my little family of three, or anything that included my baby because, duh, i’m my favorite me because of him (and of course husband too, love you hun!).
but i came across this photo the other day and it made me stop what i was doing. this was taken about 10 years ago on an improptu beach trip with some friends. i hadn’t really thought about it until seeing this photo but i really didn’t stop and enjoy the life i had back then. i mean, i look back on it and am all wow, life was awesome and i had no idea. not that it’s not perfection now but back then i had a job i enjoyed, working for people i enjoyed working for, living in a penthouse apt. in a remarkably beautiful area of town where i would walk to the corner store on sunday mornings and grab a naked juice, a donut, the sunday paper and then sit on my balcony and do the crossword puzzle. i used to go out 4/7 nights a week and even though i’d imbibed way too much i’d bounce right back the next day to head out to the park or some downtown event. i chose and enjoyed being single, i wore heels everywhere, i always did my hair, i went to church every sunday, i shopped in cute little shops, i could take spur of the moment trips because it sounded like a good idea. i got myself out of debt and was fully financially independent, i bought what i wanted because i’d earned it, i didn’t care if those new shoes meant another night of ramen. my social calendar was quite full and this was also the point in my life where i met and became friends with my now husband.
all in all, i guess my early/mid twenties were everything i could have ever hoped for. and, let’s be honest, this photo made me realize all this AND that i had a pretty sweet bod back then, or at least i did in this photo but that is long gone now. so today it’s my fave because who doesn’t want to realize that the life they’ve lived is actually the life they always wanted?

Feb. 19: Something You Hate To Do
umm, do i even need to clarify on this one? cleaning is The Worst. and cleaning a room that has been “overflow” since the day you moved in a year ago is even worse than The Worst.

Feb. 16: Something New
being able to ride the wheelie cow on his own is a relatively new skill that we both enjoy. i could watch him scoot around on it all day… i just wish he’s keep on the cowboy hat i keep putting on his head

Feb. 15: Phone
yes, we have a landline. apparently it’s only for solicitors and to ease my mind so i know that if someone ever breaks in i can just dial 911 and leave it there and they’ll be able to come to my house quickly.
i watch too much Law & Order.
