since a few people had asked, the bike baby seat we’re going with is the Topeak BabySeat II
after doing all my research this one came out miles ahead of the others. it’s the #1 recommendation from every bike specialist i’ve talked with and gets raves reviews and ratings from everyone else. it’s the safest one out there for your baby because of the back height, leg compartments, 6pt harness, wrap around mould, etc.
it’s also super convenient in that if i want to ride without him it just pops off the back, no tools necessary.
the only thing i’m curious about is the Britax baby seat that just came out. since it’s by a car seat maker it could be great or it could be a crap copout like they tend to do when they branch into other products just to slap their name on more stuff, ie. their strollers.
anyway, i haven’t even bought it yet but if you want to save yourself the research get the Topeak. i’ll follow up on this once we have it in use.

have you ever been really excited about an item you purchased on a deal/blowout site and then it shows up on your doorstep and they shipped you the wrong thing? as in the bag that the item came in had the right description but the item in the bag was something completely different?

ugh, i’m trying to be a big girl and not cry about it. i called and of course they’re out of stock on what i actually did purchase.

this is the first time Amazon has ever wronged me. they’re on notice.

you’d think with all the things that have come out of my mouth since we’ve had the baby that i’ve gone hippie (“i LOVE my Moby wrap!”, “cloth diapers were definitely the way to go for us”, “i hate all the plastic crap!”, etc.) but keep in mind that i haven’t, i still selfishliy prefer convenience and functional design over anything else.

and with that… i love reusable swim diapers! okay, disposable swim diapers make sense to me if your baby isn’t really going to go in a pool/ocean that often, maybe a couple of times every few months. but if you’re going in pools any more often than that it just doesn’t make sense financially to buy the disposable things. for the cost of one pack of disposables you can buy one reusable and it’ll last for MONTHS before they grow out of it for $7+!

i’ve had great luck with the Swimways, Charlie Banana, and Finis (though this one is long in the crotch) so far. however i’m really interested in trying the Kushies and Imse Vimse where they don’t pull down like undies so when they do have a major poop you’re not dragging it down their legs. oh, and we’ve had MAJOR poops in them and you would never know it until we go to take it off, they really do hold in the poo!  i don’t know how but they work.

sure, you could use a bike lock on your stroller but why would you when these are so damn cute?!
i happen to have this hippo one and i’ve used it since the day it arrived, literally. (it also comes in cute monkey, pertty panda, and piggy)
no, you don’t need a lock all the time but it’s great to keep in your stroller for those times when you DO need it… say, perhaps, when entering a baby friendly coffee shop that requests you park your stroller outside. and these are all on sale right now!
