it's always like this

3 notes &

i’m a gatherer

i round up as much information as possible before venturing into anything

so when it came to baby you know i went overboard

it started with an innumerable amount of blog reading - posts from expectant mothers and recent mothers was my drug of choice

it quickly moved to all of the mom-to-be websites - reading birth stories and all about the emotionally (and sometimes physically) painful process of trying to conceive

then i gathered books - first stack borrowed from the BFFE, then purchased some on my own (i don’t do libraries, i like to mark shit up)

i topped off the fact-finding-mission with Dr. visits and reading WAY more medical data than recommended on the process of getting pregnant and the risks involved with pregnancy and labor in general.

but that’s me, that’s how i do anything. i need to be prepared and understand what every possible risk is. the unfortunate part is that i have Zero patience. for anything. ZERO. i knew it wasn’t going to be about just being prepared but a little bit of scienceluck too… for a Type A crazy controlling personality this does not bode well for an easy happy go lucky time of “trying”. i was ready to BE pregnant by that time. need i remind you, Zero patience.

in summary - i recommend none of these. just do it. your Dr will tell you what you need to know as you go along. everything else is just drama, things to worry about along the way for no particular reason, and “being prepared for the worst” isn’t worth it.

you don’t need to go into trying to get pregnant with the looming fear that you will die during child birth. it’s just not healthy fun.
