What is snow cream?
real snow cream is actually ice cream(ish) made from freshly fallen snow. growing up we would put a huge bowl on the back deck to collect the fresh snow and then add in eggs, cream, sugar, and a bit of vanilla and freeze it all up. i can’t really explain what it tastes like but it’s kind of like a really light vanilla ice cream, just not as thick/creamy/heavy. more like a vanilla ice milk. does that make sense?
now i’m sure this stuff wasn’t made using real snow and i guess part of what i love about it is the making of it but seeing as we don’t get much snow where i live i’m willing to see if it’s anything as delicious as the real stuff.
but no matter how delicious it is i will still attempt to make snow cream with my children during whatever little bit of snow we’ll get.
