what i've learned in motherhood
when your baby is off playing in another room (a room that’s relatively baby safe of course) the only thing that makes you run faster than hearing a loud THUD and then instant crying is hearing a loud THUD and then silence i almost died running in there, i’ve never moved that fast in my life

organic
it’s the buzzword of the last 5+ years… but i think most people confuse it with “sustainable” and therefore they don’t know what they’re talking about when they think they sound smart and “green” which makes them idiots and it drives me bananas. organic bananas.

in stores Enfamil tubs are about $24 each, i never pay more than $13 each but usually i can score them for about $10 and here’s how… Target. Target usually runs specials on Enfamil <buy 2 get $5 gift card or buy 3 get $10 gift card- right now it’s buy 2 get $10!> and on top of this you can use a Target coupon (which they’ll send you in the mail) + a...

Zutano booties are where it’s at Tumblr moms seem to have this down but for the rest of you - they’re worth the money! i know, i know, $20 for baby booties?! it is a little extreme but in the cooler months (sept - april) you’ll get your money’s worth and more out of these! they’re warm and they don’t fall off no matter how much the baby tugs, kicks, crawl, or...

refrigerated snacks are a great teething helper we espcially love carrot sticks, cucumber slices, and apple chunks but be warned - when feeding cukes you will find seeds everywhere, including poopy diapers. apparently they’re not digestable

Christmas Tree Shops have kids toys and SO MUCH cheaper than other stores! we got a great set of real wooden alpha/number blocks for $10 WITH the pull storage wagon, i saw Fisher Price toys you actually want for almost half of what they are elsewhere. they don’t have a huge toy section (at least my local store doesn’t) but they do have a decent selection and we’ll for sure be...

i’ve had multiple mom friends tell me i should write a blog. i always chuckle at this and sometimes i even let them in on the secret that ”i already do” but the conversation always goes back to all of the little nuggets of information i share with them on great deals i’ve found, or the only place i’ll buy those, etc. and it’s not that i’m giving them...

in our house
there are certain ways that food gets prepared and i would have always assumed that this is just the way everyone makes these things if my husband didn’t look at me like i had two heads the first time he made any of these NOT in the way i’m accustomed to. i may or may not have reacted innappropraitely. but my son will grow up knowing that… grilled cheese sandwiches taste best...
